Research published in SJIS typically draws on the Scandinavian research traditions, emphasizing engagement with the field. As this line of research is not confined by geographical boundaries, the term "Scandinavian" in the title of the journal should be interpreted metaphorically rather than literally. International Journal of Forestry Research publishes research about the management and conservation of trees or forests, including tree biodiversity, sustainability, habitat protection and the social and economic aspects of forestry. The Indonesian Journal of Forestry Research (IJFR) publishes original, peer-reviewed research articles and literature reviews on the topic of forestry, particularly pertaining to Indonesia.
